Canada's surf capital

Cox Bay Beach hosted the very first professional ASP surf competition ever held in Canada, back in 2010. Tofino also hosts the Queen of the Peak Women's Surf Championship every September.

A tree with a 18-metre waistline

On Meares Island, the Hanging Garden Tree has a circumference of 18.3 metres. That means it would take roughly 12 adults holding hands to wrap around it. It is one of the largest trees in the entire country.
